Rev. Mahendra Christi

Rev. Mahendra Christi serves as the Pastor of the Gujarati Church of Canada, where he leads with a deep commitment to prayer, discipleship, and sharing the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Born and raised in India, Rev. Christi grew up with a strong foundation in faith and a passion for serving others. His calling to ministry developed early in life. After moving to Canada, he recognized the need for a place where Gujarati Christians could worship in their heart language, leading to the establishment of the Gujarati Church of Canada.

Under his leadership, the church has grown in fellowship and faith. Rev. Christi has been instrumental in the development of ministries tailored for international students, women, men, and seniors.

Above all, Rev. Mahendra Christi remains committed to honoring God, building His kingdom, and nurturing a strong Gujarati Christian presence in Canada.

In the late seventies and early eighties, the founding members of the Gujarati Church of Canada arrived in Ontario, Canada and nurtured a dream to have Bible based Gujarati Christian Community. In 2001, we started a small Bible Study called Canadian Gujarati Christian Fellowship, led by Rev. Mahendra Christi. Meanwhile, Rev. Mahendra Christi completed his Masters in Divinity and was ordained.

In 2007, The Gujarati Church of Canada was dedicated and appointed Rev Mahendra Christi as the pastor by Rt. Rev. Vinod Malaviya (Bishop of Church of North India – Gujarat Diocese), Dr. Rev. Nicholas Parmar (Bible Society of India), Dr. Rondo Thomas (Vice President of Canada Christian College, Toronto), Rev. Norman Green (NBUC – United Church of Canada), and Rev. Graham Kennedy (Presbyterian Church of Canada).

Rev Mahendra Christi was appointed as an Ordained Minister to lead and to serve the Gujarati Christian congregation in Canada.
